Editor Jeff Share won second place in the magazine column category for “The Cost of Bad PR” and Managing Editor Michael Reed won third place in magazine features for his investigation of issues involving cast-iron pipe.

David C. Carroll, GTI president and CEO, was named president of the International Gas Union (IGU) for a three-year term at the closing ceremony of the June World Gas Conference (WGC) in Paris. With members from 91 countries representing 97% of the world's natural gas industry, IGU’s mission is to advocate for gas as an integral part of a sustainable global energy system, and to promote the political, technical and economic progress of the gas industry. The organization's home office, or Secretariat, is in Oslo, Norway.

WASHINGTON – The INGAA Foundation’s board of directors elected Robert A. Riess, Sr., president and chief executive officer of Sheehan Pipe Line Construction Company, as its new chairman for a one year-term.

“Rob has extensive experience in pipeline construction, and he understands what it takes to build a natural gas pipeline safely and on time. This experience and insight make him ideally suited to take the reins as chairman of the INGAA Foundation for the coming year,” said Foundation President and CEO Don Santa.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s Steve Redding Sr., director of the company’s leak management program, received the 2015 Milton W. Heath Sr. Memorial Award at the American Gas Association’s annual Operations Conference and Biennial Exhibition in Grapevine, TX. The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions toward the detection, prevention and repair of natural gas leaks.
